For the last year I have been waiting for the fact that we got something big or will just be a another over hyped event that will never come back to OKC ever again. As in the fact with a few conventions that been here. I was not impress at all. Now I will say this about the past few events that hit OKC in the past was just a total dud in many areas of the events that I been to in the past, but this one was a bit different then those.

This is the biggest named event that ever to come OKC in history & it don't seem to disappoint at all. Now I can say that was already hyped up, because it was announced that it was moving down from Tulsa to OKC. After the big news hit it. The hyped for was going to be high for the coming year.

There was a lot of great thing to do other then to meet some biggest names in Hollywood. There was a lot of different vendors there that I never see before & was liking that there was a completely change to the feel of the type of vendors that

OAFCon 2017 review

Another great weekend that I had here in Oklahoma. This past weekend I thought it was nice to head down to Norman & check out OAFCon. This is a smaller named convention that is not to well know by many people. So it was nice to see a something that I don't know what to expect at this event. I did see it being promoted of a comic book group on Facebook. So I did think that is was a small comic book event that was going on.

As I walked thru the doors of the room that it was taking place. I was surprised on how many dealers that was there to sell off their collection. The volume of the comics that where in great shape was just outstanding for me to see with my own I eyes. As I was walking around to see all the vendors at the event. I was happy to say that it was very easy to walk around in the room that was given.

There was not too many people there so that was the main reason that it was so easy to move freely there. I did go to this one panel there. It was a show N tell type of thing & it was a blast to see rare & cool items. From a cowboy hat that was for a little girl to rare magazine that was in almost prefect condition. Plus a few stories on the event itself that was nice to hear about.

Since this was the first time that I been there & not to be too judgemental on this little trip. I really loved it. I hope that it does keep coming back every year so that we can try to have a bigger name for this event. With small steps this event will be the next big comic book event that will be the one to watch out for in the coming years. The best part of this event was that is was free to enter.

Is physical going to die soon.

With a major shift the is here I'm one of the many few that don't like to see a great change that can hurt any kind of business that can die do to the change in the world. As a person that really likes to buy a physical copy of a item. To me it shows that I have the item & like to show it off to all my friends.

Now with the digital which I'm slowly getting more in too. I do see that I can just buy it & show it off on the hard drive. Now I do know that I will always have it in my digital library. All that I need to do is login to my account for Xbox, PlayStation or iTunes. Then all I need to do is play it.

The only downside to some digital libraries is that is it able to purchase in the library that you like to use? If there is a album, game, book, movie or comic book is not listed. It shows that's not available at the time your looking. This show that there most be some kind of legal issue that is present that we are unaware of.

Now I will still be getting a physical copies of things, but for now I think that I will be doing  a mix of this whole physical / digital debate as of now. I'm not saying that one is better then the other. If I can't find a physical. Then was I will get a digital copy for my personal collection. I will never sat that I only go physical in the future, but it my never hurt to do so.

FrackFest 2017 review.

With so much that was going on this past weekend I was lucky to make it a event that I just know that I was going to  enjoy to the fullest & I was right about that. I had the time to going & see a lot of great indie & underground films from around the world. Boy I was just amazed to see as many as I can. I was luck to see 14 out of 20 films & shorts that was show there. Not a bad time that I had, but was still nice to see them.

Noe this event is still a very small event compare to bigger ones like Slamdance & others like, but it was still great local event for those that live in the Oklahoma City area. Now I did like that there was music & board games going on in another part of the of the same building that was OK to check out if you are into them.

It was nice to see some of the cast & crew at the event after there film was done showing so we can ask them anything about there projects & what they wad to do to get that one good shoot just right. Only a few of the films had someone that worked on them there, Which was fine to me, but it would of been nice to see more people that work on it there. I'm not going to say that if you submit a film you need to there. I did see a few shorts where from Iran. So maybe they thought it was nice to not come for personal reasons.

It was to see that there are a lot of different styles of films there as well. I hope that FractFest keeps coming back every year so the many more great indie & underground films that not many people have seen with there own two eyes. I just love that we have a event that is a great price for great fun for the whole weekend. If you in the Oklahoma City area & love to see a lot of indie & underground films that will open your mind to a great new world. Then FrackFest is the place to go.

The Need for more indie films.

At times it seems that I can't enjoy a good big budget film for some odd reason. I know that some  can be a bit of a downer, but others are just suck. Now I know that hype can make or break a film & the way it was marketed can the main problem that way things can fail.

The thing that I like about the indie film market is the fact you got some low expectations for the film anyway. So there is no to some hype that your going to like it in the first place. Witch is normal for any one that have seen a few indie films. Now I have seen a few indie films myself & most of them are good to check out if you can find them.

I think streaming services like Hulu. Do have a good selection of indie films & documentaries on the site. Most of them are very well done for many of the ones that I seem, but a few of them where not that well know to the public & are well worth you time if you can find some that you like

I do see a few films on Microsoft's marketplace, but most of them are a much for indie films to be sold for on the Xbox. There maybe a bit cheaper now, but I have to see to check if the prices have come down since the last time that I have looked thru the library of films. Plus I will check if Sony has any good indie films in there marketplace.

In the end I hope that we can enjoy some good indie films that ready open are eyes to this world that I like t see more of in the years to come.

Mortal Kombat 25 years later.

As a guy that grow up in the 90's the seen a big changes that rock the landscape of all popculture that we got today. Nothing did it better then a games called "Mortal Kombat" which shocked the world of games with blood & dismemberment like no game before it.

The game was the one thing that many games like me to be happy that we can have violent in video games & never have to do it in the real world. I didn't like that some politicians was used the games as a escape cost for the real issues that was going on the time & was just so stupid at the time.I'm happy that we can still play games that is as violent as Mortal Kombat & not feel guilty for doing so.

We did many installments & spin off of the game. As well as a live action, cartoon show & 2 movies. Not saying that it needs more movies & T.V. shows, but it needs to noted that these things are out there & need to be talk about from time to time.
