As a life long fan of Star Wars. I never thought that the franchise will ever be so bad that it was going away for good. Yes I did defend the prequels fro time to time. Because at first viewing them I did had a bit of a mixed opinion on them & was some what of a critic of the storytelling of the movies.
I did have many debates with friends & family on the films. That they where OK & could of been a lot better on a few parts of the trilogy, but since I did not write them in the first place. All that I can do is to accept them as is & just love them for what could of been. Now when I heard that Disney bought Lucas Arts. I was a bit mixed on the deal that we heard at the time. As time passed I heard the there was more Star Wars films on the way & was consed that the films were just a total mess with what I grow up on. So I just waited to see if any of the original cast was on board & see some reviews of the film I heard some good things & a few bad things about the film. just to be fair to the film I will just see if can watch it on DVD. I did go see it at a "Movie at a Park" event & was just shock that it was not the same Star Wars that I grow up on. At just felt like a fan faction film to me. Then the final nail on the coffin hit me. Yes the worst film ever. The Last Jedi was just bad. To me it was just like the they rebooted the franchise in the second film & all the growth of the characters that was made in the first film just don't matter at all. Why would try to have a interest in to some of these characters. If some of them just don't grow from nothing to a great hero? They had there chase of doing some amazing, but just choose to keep some of them the same or not grow enough to some of the hardcore fans. I can't see myself supporting the franchise anymore. The way that Lucas Arts higher ups & some of the things that the crew has said to the fandom. Is a slap to the face that we are no longer welcome to what we once loved. True the times has change to the world since the first Star Wars film, but I know that we can't stop loving the films that we grow up on. Yeah we can't just hate the films for being a poor reflection on the good films. We all can just learn from what did well & what fail. Yeah Solo was a bomb in the box office & cancelled a lot of bad ideas that may still happen some time down the road. I just wish that there was a good story to tell in these films, but it was never there to me. Since there will always going to be stories that are going to be told in the Star Wars universe. I hope in that we can just get a good one & no politics in them. I do like some of the new characters, but just don't like how some of them were treated. Will we get any good feedback from the fans that are investing their hard even money after the Rise of Skywalker? To me this film will be a "Better be good or we riot online for a long time" kind of film. It most be good to the fan base or Disney will be in trouble with the fans for a long time. For many people that was born in the 1980's & 1990's there was only two major companies that sold video game consoles. They were Sega & Nintendo. Yes both companies had there consoles go head to head. To see which one was the best of the two. This was just the fourth generation of the console wars.
By that time Nintendo was looking to go with a cd base console & Sony made a work prototype, But they sided with Philips in the end.Sony felt that they was just thrown to the side & forgotten after there hard work. Luck for Sony they kept the rights to the name "PlayStation" & made a great system that we all came to love. We all have at least one good game that the original PlayStation had that made many of us into the gamers that we are today. Some of the games made us rage quit a lot back then. Trust me there was a lot of games that I rage quit & never played them again. I know the thing that made Sony a household name & it was the PlayStation exclusives games that was only on PlayStation that made them a threat to both Sega & Nintendo. At that time Nintendo had a more kid friendly type of image on their console & Sega was a bit more open to some adult content on their system, but it seem to work with both of them. Sony was open to a mix bag of both the kid friendly & the more mature games. I think that this is why the PlayStation was a very system for everyone that played it. Yes it was a good first step for a company like Sony to take a risk that nobody to think about to take. See the best of both worlds on a single system that many people like. The one thing that some people liked the most was the controller changed so much in a short amount of time. It went from a normal looking one to a controller with analog sticks. That alone changed the way that all game controllers should have on them at all times. Do I have any favorite games or memories on the original PlayStation. Yeah I do. I like to play some fighting game that were based off some good anime shows at the time. Like Mobile Suit Gundam & Inuyasha. I did play some of the Final Fantasy games, but I did get stuck at points of the game. There was a game called Crono Cross that I did play. It was a OKAY game, but it was hard at times to figure out a few of the puzzles that it had. So do I think that the the next generation of the PlayStation just about to be released to the world. I hope that the next generation well show that Sony still got the stuff to make a great system at a good price. Yeah they made a few missteps a long the way, but they did current the mistakes that made. Yeah I did think that the PS 3 was a high of a price to pay at first. Now I hope that the price is fair for all that everyone to get the next PlayStation in their home. |
