MY thoughts on the Oklahoma Book Festival.

You when I heard that that their was going to be a book festival in my part of the state. I has very optimistic at first. I didn't seem to care about it at first & then seen that it was free to go there. After seeing the line up of authors & guest that was going to be there. I slowly change my mind rather to go or not. Man talk about a great event.

The level of interdependent authors. publishers & writers was just amazing to hear what their books are about & what kind of genre they are. Most of them where not my cup of tea, but still nice to know that kind of authors where there to sell their books.

Now this was the first time that I gone to an event that was fully outside & think that we need more of them. I was happy that there was some much that I can see their other than look at nothing but books. There was some panels that had authors talk about the topics of their books & other things that had to do with the industry.

I was able to see that they did have a kids area for those that had there kids with them & a good deal of actives for them to do there. they also had a choice of food trucks at the west end. I just just took a quick look at them & seem that they know how to have a wide selection of types of food trucks to get to show up.

One thing that is keep this from being an perfect event that was the we got some a lot of rain for the last few weeks the ground was still solid & a few puddles water was still present at a few spots, but it didn't seem to hurt the event to bad. I did love that tents where set up to give some set up some shade to relax & enjoy a panel.

All in all I think that this was a nice first time event to go to & enjoy some nice books that we didn't know about. I just can't wait for next years. Maybe I could buy a book or two at the next book festival that we will have.

DO internet Trolls have too much power.

You know what. At times I just wonder what happen to people just talking it out to those that disagreed with. I mean what is the world is coming to. Now going to start telling you need to be nice to other people & treat those like who you like to be treated.

Nowadays it's just total chaos on the internet & everyone seems to be enjoying it. Not me. Think that people need to get a grip & chill out. I'm getting to a point that we get to hear that when one person is gets too popular in one area of the internet. They must be destroy at all cost.

Here are a few examples that I can give you. Rich of Review Tech USA. He has dose a lot few videos on rumors that are going around that he gets from tech sites that got sources on different things that he been know to cover like computers, cell phones & gaming consoles. Some trolls will hound on him if the rumors change like the wind. So they will do it like there is not tomorrow at times & they think that their in the right for doing it.

Another example is a YouTuber "Tipster." He mostly talks about what is going on in the gaming community & sometimes gaming news. He lost MCN do to a troll that he was in a discord group that was going to try get some high scores removed by any way that they can. They where caught by chatting in a secret group & called out for their actions. Tipster was one of a few people that was covering their actions & more.

Now I beat that there is a lot more examples that I can go with on the this topic, There are just so many that I don't think are as bad as other, but the ones that are willing to go as far as some do, Are just man babies that need to grow up. I going to give anyone that hate a person for their own views on stupid stuff,

All that I like to see from people. Is just talking out their different views on a debate. I think that most of these fights are just for show & nobody seems to think about there own actions in the long run.

IS there Fascism in Anime?

Before I talk about a stupid article that has been talked about on YouTube & shared online. I like to tell you some of my history that I have with anime. I think that first encounter anime was in the late 1980's. I don't remember the name of the anime, but it was an action/ mech type of anime that I still can't recall the name to. Then came other like Dragon Ball, Gundam, Outlaw Star & many more.

I seen a lot of historical references to some of both the characters & real events that are in some of the anime that I have seem over the years. I never seem get me up in arms to boycott the show that I found out who the person is suppose to be modeled after in the real world. That really didn't really change any views on the anime that I have seen before know the facts of the show.

Now let's get to this article that is just trash to the rim of lies. Now I had to read the article to get to the fullest range possible to get the heart of the talking points & it dose a poor explaining the issues of the so call "FASCISM" that I have seem in the anime on the list that I have seen. Must of them are a Military themed anime & you my get a some taste of Fascism in the story, but don't think about at all.

To be nice about the writer & think that we may see some kind of command ground on this topic with some kind of luck on my end of the line. Hopefully we can be friends in a nice conversation on a very hot topic like this one. I haven't seem all the anime that are on the list, but I think that most of them that are named do have a stronger push for Fascism then the ones that I already seen. I can't be for shore on that. So don't hold me to that.

As I was reading the article I did see that Food Wars was on the list & don't seem to know why it was on this list. Now I have seen this anime & its a good one to watch. As I seeing way it made the list I do recall that in the third season a new person did take over the school & set a one standard for all the young cooks in training.

I don't think much about some themes that we get in anime or any other show that I watch these day, because I only care about the fact did I like it or not. To me this is just a person that is seeing a show that I like very much & enjoying the story that it has in it, but they may see something that I don't see in it or understand why they don't like it at all.

Now I do hate to defend the anime for that I have seem & are on the list, but I no choice to do so. I'm shocked that some of the best anime that I have ever seen are being labeled as Fascist & there is not a lot to support it. I still think that it's not strong case that I see against it in the end. I hate to say that there is nothing that promotes fascism in any of the anime that I have seen in my life.

Could the writer just be seeing something that we are not seeing? Is the writer in the right to mark any thing that they don't like as some kind of propaganda. I don't care about that. If it was any kind of propaganda or not. The only thing that I care is if it was any good or not.

With that said. I going to fine me some anime & enjoy watching it.

My Review of OAF Con 2018.

You know. If there one thing that I love more that a free convention. That is a great free convention that shows that a nice gathering of comic book fans, artist & dealers can come together to fine some of the best that the comic books have to offer to the readers.

Not much has change since last year's event & it was very nice to see that there was some different vendors that was there & a few faces that I already know very well. It was in the same spot as of last year's & about the same amount of vendors that was there.

The best thing that I notice was that without to big of a crowd that was there. It was a well layout event that any one can go to. Yeah it was in a very small area that you can get a good size group in to have a conventions & a few panels there, but the thing that still gets me is. Why don't they expand the convention area to hotel?

I have been thinking about his form time to time & never can come up with a good reason on why that they never seem to it. I thing do to the limits of the funds is the main reason. I really will love to see this convention expand to it's fullest in the years to come.

With this all said. I still love this little gem that we got here & hopes that it continue to keep coming every single year. There are some great convention that are about like this & they all have a flaw or two to fix for the future. This is not a big problem or thing. I know that some smaller conventions do have hard time getting off the ground.

This has to be one of the best free conventions that Oklahoma has to date. We all need to go to these smaller convention & show are support to the people that are putting them together. I really will be coming back to next years event to show my support.

Mark Waid VS Richard Meyer Lawsuit.

Before I get to far into my post. I like to say that I delayed this post just to get a bigger picture of this lawsuit that I got wind of this week. I was going to do it yesterday, but I think it was a good idea to do for a few reasons.

Now with that said. I was a surprised that we word that Mark Waid is being sued for his actions that he took on Richard Meyer back in May. This news was delayed that a lawsuit was filed for some reason that I don't understand, but don't care for the real reason.

The thing that I was hearing the most about the lawsuit that Mark has been charged with is Tortious Interference with contract, defamation, & exemplary damages. Now I'm know that some of things that he has been charged with. This starts to show that Mark never really don't care about the fact that he hurt a person that was challenged to make a comic book by his own words & seen it as threat. Then had to destroy it, because it was going to be way better then what Mark was putting out.

Do I really feel sad that a person that was a big platform in the comic book industry for a long time. I just can't seem to understand that what that if Mark would ever tell some body to make a comic that they like to read & sell to people to read it. Then try to stop it do it fear of it being better then our work.

I just don't see the real reason that Mark will try to stop a comic that looks very well done & I was going to buy in to see how good it was going to be. This may not ever be answered, but I hope that this just a bad misunderstanding & we all can move along

Now I do think that Mark may not got off on some of the charges like the defamation & maybe the exemplary damages are going to be hard to prove that Meyer is anything that Mark had claim. I will love to see the out come of this case that we all need to see.

Tinkerfest 2018 review

This past weekend was very different kind of a convention that missed last year & was very happy to go to this year. I was very happy to see that their was great amount of things t build & to try out for anyone that was a the event.

As I was walking the grounds I did see somethings that I don't expect to their. One of the many of the stations that was a their where you can take a real car apart or watch other people do that. You can built a dog house from the ground up. There was a lot other things that was their to make their be happy that you built it all the way.

One of the best that I seen their was a giant NES controller that was working & you can play a real game. When is looking at it. There was a flood of memories was coming back to me. Seeing that kids was playing with one of the best games that ever made. It shows the classic games that are the best ones to get kids into.

There was not a art their, It was mostly just people showing off their works that they made themselves & I think that was a great idea to get kids involved to the great world of technology that is out their.

Would I go back to Tinkerfest next year? Yes I would. It's not a big deal to go their just hang out with friend & family just to hang out for a day. I just say that it was be hard to find some of things that was going to be their, but I still had a great time.

Hope that there a event for next year & hope that their a few things that are fixed from this years. I just love to go to a free event like this again,
