Gamergate 5 years later.

This month marks 5 years since the internet was set on fire that a small time game developer was ratted out by her boyfriend for having sex with a game journalist & since the she had a hard time getting into the big leagues of being a game developer. Talk about being on hard times.

As a gamer that love to read a good review of a games that I may some time that I like to get my hands on. I was kinda shock that some journalists where go to extremes just to get a look at a scoop for a game that is not even officially announce to the world.

I get it, but when you are having sex with a person just to get some free press on their word base game that is not fully a game in the first place. You seem to me that you are not a true game developer in the slightest. Your just a person that the lowest of the low. Those type of people are not the best kind of people.

You think that real game developers will work hard to just to see if they can make a game in this world. that we live in. I don't care about your gender or who you sleep with, but if you think that you take any kind of short cut. Just to make a name for yourself. You are wrong. I like the people that knows that started at the bottom of the pole & work there way up to the top.

Journalists now of days are just weak & will write a article that will get clicks for the site. Most of the stories that we see. Are just pure trash. They don't care about the people that come to the site. They just care about the money that they get from the site.

Have they they not learn that ethics are the keys to the top on the mountain on the internet? With the way that some sites act. They only care about the cash of ads that they put on the site. The main reason that I support ethics in the first place. Is to be open on the fact that I'm 100% independent on this site. Yes I do a lot conventions & tell you that I liked it or not.

We need to more open on a lot of things. I don't have a big pile of money to go to all the convention that I heard about. Yeah I like to do more of them, but can't for many reasons. I just don't like it need other sites can go to parties that was paid by the host for them go to without paying a penny to go in the first & not tell us that they got a free trip to go to a party.

The one thing that really makes me think is "Why is this aloud in the first place?" We have to disclose that they were compensated for the event or active that they where to. So that we know that there is a relationship with the journalists & the companies that are doing these events.

It's a shame that we have to fight for disclosure in the world that we live in. I think that all sites must disclose the relationship with all those that they do business with in the future, So that we can be a more a where on what is being reported on.
