IS Ghostbusters 2016 canon or not?

To me this has to be a very big question that some fans of the Ghostbusters fandom has been asking themselves for some time now & there seems to be an answer to the question that we like to hear. Is Ghostbusters 2016 officially canon or not?

By what we are getting from Sony that Ghostbusters 2016 is not canon at all. To me that shows Sony has made a huge mistake in trying to reboot a franchise that has a fan base that requested a sequel to a film that is over 30 years over due by some people exceptions. I think that it should of been done by now.

Yes Ghostbusters II was a bit of a disappointment to some people & Sony was very touchy on giving us a third installment of the movie, but if a video games that came out in 2009 & start up the talks of finishing the trilogy that started in 1985. It could of been out in theaters around 2013 at the latest. Did we get it no. All we got was a half baked reboot that loss $70 million if you add in the total cost of the film, reshoots & marketing of the film.

Now I have not seen the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters yet & don't have any plans to see it. I may try to watch it & see if it was worth seeing, but as of now. I'm not going to waste my time with it. So with that said. I will give it a chance to at the lest to a full watch thru & give my opinion on it one day,

Is Ghostbusters III going to all remain original cast back? Well Harold Ramis died in 2014 & Rick Moranis has retied to be a family. So a big amount of the original cast are likely to make it back to the Ghostbusters universe.

Are we going to see a "Passing of the torch" kinda film with Ghostbusters III? I think that we get one, but with limited information at the time of this post. I think that we maybe see a newer generation of Ghostbusters in third movie.

You know what? I really just hate to bash a film that us fans been demanding for years & all we got was a weak reboot that was just a pile of trash. I was hoping to seen the third installment of a great American classic franchise, but it seems that I have to wait a bit longer to see Ghostbusters III.

As long that the 2016 reboot is no longer consider canon in the Ghostbusters franchise. I think that we can have some hope for the next installment in 2020. I just wish to see the real Ghostbusters do some great things that make it worth the wait a bit longer.
