For the past few years we have been told that "Hollywood is too white & that needs to change now or else we go to your films." At times that I hear some weak person is crying over "how racist that film looks & call for a boycott of the film. I don't support a boycott of any kind. I just don't support things that I don't like in the first place.
The thing that gets me is why do we need to have a curtain amount of a type of people in any project to just to please a group that don't go to see the films that try to make them happy in the first place. I guess that most of them don't have jobs & that way most films fail at the box office & get call names for not supporting their film.
Now I do remember a lot of films from the 80's & 90's that had a good amount of black leads & they are some of the best films that I have ever seen. Yeah some of them don't hold up to as much as others. At lest they don't take the low road to the people that don't go see it.
As of now is Hollywood too white? No it's not. Most of best names that are in Hollywood aren't white & we need to find out about there past work to see how they grow as a professional & see the range of characters they had to play. I just love to see actor or actress that has nothing in common with the character that they are playing. Is their skills up to the task to play it the way they can bring it to life.
We can not have any project that is completely black or white in any from of media. If we start doing that. We are going to have a lot of people that will not be credited for there hard work on that product & we will never know who really did what.
