This past weekend I had the chase to see Star Wars The last Jedi & I was not happy with it at all. I'm not going to a full review of the film. That will come later. Let me me just say this is on of the worst films that I have ever seen.
I'm not completely shore what the hell was the writer was thinking on some of the story that was just a throwback to Empire Strikes Back with a new skin on it. Now some of the characters are OK, but lack the backstory to make it a good film.
The main story starts where The Force Awakens ended & they are leaving their base because The First Order ships are very close. Somehow they found them & The Resistance attack the fleet then escape.Now this part is not explain at all. For some reason The First Order was about to track The Resistance when they was in light speed at all. It seen t me that they can anything without telling us anything.
Luke Skywalker is now a grumpy old man & Yoda is a total jerk that don't care about the history of the Jedi that seems to mean nothing to them at all. At points I was seeing my heroes that I looked up as role models. Are now total assholes that don't care abut life any more.
Some of the story that felt that is was just put in the story to see if we care about any message that was put in it. Like animal rights witch was a part of the film. I did see some child slavery in the film as well, but it was not talked about in the film at all.
As parts of the film I was just look at it & thought it was a dumb move, this part makes no sense at all or I was not impressed with a move in the movie. I was sick that they put that need fuel to run the ships. To my knowledge fuel has never been part of the Star Wars universe at all.
I'm a Star Wars fan no matter what. This film is just a slap in the face to many fans like me & this makes fan fiction projects look a master piece. I mean Rian Johnson is a just a fool to think that most fans will love this installment.
The think that I don't like the most is that most of the new characters are poorly written & got to except them as is for there grand debut is just a shame that we got such weak characters that we now got to go with for the exit few films.
We do need a better overlook on this franchise. If this continues then Star Wars is going to die a horrible death. I just wish that we had a better writer & director for this film. It killed all the things that I like about this franchise.
