Man it was a great to see that a casino event center to host a nice sized event & see some nice new artwork, collectables, panels, fan groups & vendors. To me it's nice that there was a balance on the different types of vendors that was there.
Plus there was a few things that the kids can do as the adults walked around the event center. Like moon bounce so they climb up it & run to the other end. I maybe forgetting a few things in the kiddie corner, but never fully seen all they had in the area. So don't blame me for not giving you all the details.
They have so boards games going on, but I never stay too long in that part on some conventions. So I do think that was a good idea to have for some that love to try out a new board game when people go to a new convention. I love to try out a few new board games out, but some of them just feel to me a bit to hard to understand the rules.
Let talk about the panels & events that was there. A few of them did look good to go to, but with the stage that they where happening. It was a bit hard to hear them do to that it was in the some part of the event center as the convention. I'm not saying that was a bad idea, but if that was the only place that they could of put it. Then I will a pass on the placement of the main stage.
Now for the thing that got to me the most was that there only two vendors that was sell some snacks & drinks at the convention. Now if this was going to be a 2 or 3 day long event & people are not going to get any kind of snacks & would like to have some food. That could be a issue for them, but since this was only a one day only. I was not to thrilled to see much on food & drinks there.
With all this said. Will I go back next year? Maybe. I can't hate one a convention that is both new & only a day long. So I will like to see somethings can be approved on & hopefully that that I can have a better time there. Now I'm very likely to go back if they can take all feedback from the people that went there & see about looking at the way to make some improvements on a few things. Like having grouping things together. Have one part be fan groups/coplayers, art alley, indie comic creators, collectors & local comic shops.
I may sound like I didn't enjoy it, but really did like it in the end of the day. I just wish that I had mare time to check out a few more things, but the drive was not too much of a problem for me & it was a great event for me to check it out. I can't wait till the next Uncanny Comic Expo.
