If there one thing that love to do from time to time. Is watch a old movie & see if that it still holds up in today's world. Now I know that I some movies don't seem to hold up as well do to the way that it was shoot, but others seem to hold up very for there age & all.
Now I can name a lot of great movies that I still look very good, but do seem a bit dated in some areas of the movie. To me one of the best movies that came out of the 1980's was a film called "Clash of the Titans." It was a film that center around Greek Mythology & truly a cult classic film that was a under preform in the theaters. Some of the stop motion bits don't look that great today, but as child that was amazing to see. Because you it looked like that the monsters that was in the film was right there fighting the men on the screen. There is a spot that was a bit awkward, but due to the times that came out in. I guess I can give it a pass & highly recommend it to anyone that loves Greek Mythology films.
Another film that I think that everyone may like is the original Godzilla. Yes I'm talking about the very first one that was made in 1954. OK this is a bit of a odd pick, but just hear me out on this. Look at it this way. A giant monster that rampage thru an country that is attacking him with all their might & with no luck at all. I don't see all the one that are from Japan, but I hope that one day that I do see them all. Then I can really do see all the hard work that was put into it
For my next film that I think that I like to talk about is a mix bag to some people, but I think is a good film to talk about. I'm talking about the 1987 film RoboCop. At first glace it look that good, but at the time it was release it a hit. It got two OK squeals & a poor reboot out of it. I am still a fan of this great film that is today. I know that it was it moments that seem to me now that its just a robot Jesus story, but I still love it.
The next film has its following for many reason. The Boondock Saints is one of those late 1990's film that film that had a good story to tell & was not a hit in the theaters. After some time it started to get following years later & did get a sequel many years later. Once I seen this film in the first few moments I was trying to get why is this was a big deal with this film. Then out of nowhere I seen why this film has its cult following. The action scenes where some of the best & story was just as good to match the action.
Now for my last pick. This film is just for fun & all, but I think that it can just for eye candy. My last film that I like to talk about is Ultraviolet. Now this film dose have a very heavy usage of CGI throw the film, but the story is not that bad. Just the standard group of rebels fighting the government. The way that the was told wasn't too bad of a film to watch. I'm go to say that it was a eye candy from beginning to the end, but I think that it is a good to try out. Yes I do think that it was a good film for it's time. With the heavy CGI in the film, I think that it do a nice usage of the effects & all, but can't say that it was a amazing film.
So I hope that you can try out some of these films that I still think are good films that we all may or may not of seen. If you haven't seen them. You may like to try them out & see if you enjoy them as much as I do.
